At CHOPPINGBLOC, we pride ourselves on offering a selection of the finest hardwoods, carefully chosen for both their beauty and durability. The wood species we use for our chopping boards include:

• Oak: A classic, strong hardwood with a beautiful grain pattern, known for its resilience and natural beauty.

• Beech: A dense and smooth wood that offers a refined look and is gentle on knife blades.

• Maple: A lighter, elegant wood with a fine grain that provides a durable yet gentle cutting surface.

• Walnut: A rich, dark wood with deep tones and striking grain patterns, perfect for a luxurious touch in your kitchen.

• Ash: Known for its distinctive grain and strength, ash is a versatile and visually appealing wood choice.

And many more hardwoods are available! If you have a specific wood species in mind or a unique idea, feel free to get in touch with us. We’re always happy to create a custom board to suit your preferences.

To keep your CHOPPINGBLOC chopping board in excellent condition and ensure its longevity, follow these simple maintenance tips:

1. Cleaning: After each use, clean your chopping board with warm water and mild soap. Avoid soaking it in water or using harsh chemicals, as this can damage the wood. Simply wipe it down and dry it thoroughly with a clean towel.

2. Oiling: Regularly oil your chopping board to keep the wood nourished and prevent it from drying out. We recommend using a food-safe mineral oil or a specialized chopping board oil. Apply a generous amount to the surface and rub it in with a soft cloth, allowing it to soak in overnight. This helps maintain the board’s natural shine and prevents cracking.

3. Storage: Store your chopping board in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Excess moisture or prolonged exposure to heat can cause the wood to warp or crack.

4. Avoid Sharp Objects on the Surface: While our boards are built to withstand heavy use, always avoid cutting directly on the end grain for long periods of time with extremely sharp objects, as this can cause grooves or damage to the surface.

With these simple steps, your chopping board will remain a beautiful and functional centrepiece  in your kitchen for years to come!

We love working with customers to bring their unique ideas to life. Whether you have a specific wood species in mind, a custom design, or special features you’d like to include, we’re here to help create the perfect chopping board for you.

To get started, simply reach out to us via email at enquiries@choppingbloc.co.uk with your ideas or specifications. We’ll work closely with you to discuss your vision, offer recommendations, and craft a beautiful, bespoke chopping board tailored to your exact needs.

We take pride in our craftsmanship and would be delighted to make a one-of-a-kind board just for you!

To ensure we create the perfect custom chopping board for you, we’ll need the following details:

1. Wood Species: Let us know if you have a specific wood in mind (e.g., oak, beech, maple, walnut, etc.). If you’re unsure, we can recommend the best options based on your preferences for colour, grain, and durability.

2. Size and Dimensions: Share the dimensions of the chopping board you would like (length, width, and thickness). If you’re unsure, we can suggest standard sizes or create a board that fits your kitchen space perfectly.

3. Design Features: Tell us if you’d like any special features such as juice grooves, finger slots, or non-slip feet. If you have a unique design in mind, we’d love to hear it!

4. Personalisation: If you’d like your chopping board personalised (e.g., engraving, logos, or initials), please specify the text or design you’d like included.

5. Finish & Maintenance: Let us know if you have preferences for the oil or finish you’d like on your board (e.g., food-safe mineral oil, or left natura etc.).

Once we have these details, we’ll be able to provide you with a quote and begin working on your custom chopping board. Feel free to share any other requests or ideas, and we’ll ensure your board is crafted to perfection!
